Coledale Colliery In March, 1902, a new colliery was developed on an old site and named North Bulli No. 2. Later that year a railway platform was built nearby and named Coledale. The South Coast Times, 19th November, 1904 reported that Coledale Colliery (formerly North Bulli No. 2) had installed a longwall cutting machine. The manager was a Mr, Cator and had the intention of working the cutter at night and haul during the day. Fifty coke ovens were built in 1905, increasing to 100 in 1908. The mine closed in 1926, reopened in the 1940's and closed again in the 1970's. Illawarra Mercury, December 3rd, 1999, "Supplement of the Century" See also:-
